Awesome place. Great service. Went there to take in the NCAA final four. Burgers are great. Taryn rocked!

"Saturday night special You got a barrel that's blue and cold" (Lynyrd Skynyrd) You'll find the Barrel Bar and Grill on Whiskey Row, pretty much across the street from Duluth Trading. It's a big space, with plenty of tables and chairs and a large bar that covers pretty much the entire wall on the left side. Our group sat in a funky little space with lots of exposed brick overlooking the street. Our dinner was lots of fun, the food was good, the drinks were excellent, and the friendly service was fine. I had a Southwest Salsa Burger ($16) with Pepper jack cheese - salsa - jalapeños - lettuce - onion and cilantro, with a side of onion rings. My beverage of choice was a Classic Old Fashioned ($15) with Benchmark Top Floor Bourbon, demerara syrup, bitters, and an orange peel. Our group of eight folks met at 7:00 and by the time we left at 9:00, the joint was crowded and very loud, with Friday Night fun seekers. Welcome to the Whiskey Row Weekend.

Wandering around Main St looking for a place for lunch. They had a good looking menu with lots of options and the game on TV so we stopped in. Good choice. It wasn't that crowded, fairly quick service (until we were ready for the bill). Breakfast burritos were very good, salads were huge.

Breakfast was amazing! Fresh and hot! Espresso martini with a shot of Bailey's for cream was towards the top of my espresso martini list! Would definitely come back!

We had brunch here and it was pretty good. The portions are huge. The menu needs to be updated because the first two items we ordered aren't even available anymore. Friendly staff.

Great prices, great food. Service was quick and efficient. Glad we stumbled on this place.

Second stop of the attempt to earn the "Soused" badge with the lovely Jasmine A. (after we shut down the last place). A bourbon (we are in Louisville, after all) and a beer for me, a glass of wine for her. We got one healthy snack plate (hummus with vegetables) and one not healthy snack plate (fried mac & cheese bites). The hummus was great but the pita triangles needed to be toasted. These were cold and fragile. Not great. The mac & cheese bites started off great when they were hot but as they get cooler, they change and aren't as great. Some room for improvement here. Service was good and the drinks were good. Long list of bourbons from inexpensive to very expensive. A reasonable selection of beers. A good place to chill and get in a drink. On this particular Sunday night, my wife received a call that some of her old friends were in town enjoying the bourbon trail, and they asked us to join them for dinner and drinks. So of course, we did. My wife and I had been wanting to try Barrel Barn and Grill for some time. But we never stopped in because we were always heading someplace else. When we heard that they wanted us to meet them in the Barrel Barn, we were like cool, another place we have been wanting to try. So, we quickly and easily made the 12 min drive from the house to the bar and got lucky and found street parking almost in front of the bar. Once I had impressed my wife with my parallel parking skills, we happily walked in while hearing several voices calling my Wife's name. As my wife caught up; we reviewed the bourbon selection. They have all the standards. From Pappy's all the way down. My wife settled on Knob Creek 9, neat. Me, my eyes caught the mixed drink menu that listed a Cherry Old Fashion. So that is what I ordered. Ashley, our server was more than happy to fix our drinks and open a tab. After awhile and another round, it was decided that we were hungry. I ordered the buffalo boneless wings from the Appetizer side of the menu and my selected the Buffalo Chicken wrap. The wings were most excellent, as well as the Old Fashions and my wife enjoyed her wrap and fires. We stayed awhile longer as my wife enjoyed reminiscing. But at last, our time was up... They were on vacation, and we had to be at work in the morning. So, we said our goodbyes and headed home. We will be back and if you go make sure you ask for Ashley. She and her coworkers will take great care of you.
